Yuno Gasai (我妻 由乃, Gasai Yunoru) is in love with Yukiteru. Her "Yukiteru" diary monitors his actions and condition in 10 minute intervals. Its most obvious weakness is that it doesn't depict Yuno's future, unless it somehow involves Yukiteru, or her own Dead End. Working with Yukiteru's "Random" diary, however, covers both of their diaries' individual flaws; as it has been said, the two make for a perfect combo, both in theory and in practice.
Smart, beautiful, and diligent, those who don't truly know Yuno would simply see the "model student" role she plays at school. In reality, Yuno is obsessed with Yukiteru and has no qualms with eliminating anyone and everyone capable of endangering his life, or their relationship. Yuno's ruthless nature and quick-thinking make her one of the strongest players in Deus' game, despite owning a diary that provides little to no self-survival aid. Though Yuki is credited with triggering the greatest shifts in future occurrences, it is primarily because of Yuno. Yuno carries a utility knife at all times, but will improvise, if the situation demands it.
Yuno lives in a poorly-kept house without electricity. Yuki discovers a room of rotting corpses, during his first visit. On a later visit with Aru Akise present, the room with the corpses, as well as its foundation, have been obliterated from the structure. Unbeknownst to the two, Yuno saved the heads of two of the corpses, later identified as her parents, and is currently carrying them with her. It's revealed that her domineering parents used to confine and starve her in an effort to raise her to be a model citizen. She murdered her parents after she had had enough of their strict, unrelenting upbringing.
After Yuki resolves to kill the remaining diary owners, Yuno gives Yuki permission to kill her. It's suggested that, after they eliminate the remaining diary owners, she will ensure his victory by committing suicide. It's later revealed by Akise that Yuno is, in fact, an impostor, pretending to be the real Yuno Gasai, as the mysterious third corpse at her house is identified as the real Yuno Gasai. Seemingly unperturbed by this information, Yuki remains by Yuno's side, which surprises her, as she believed Yuki would abandon her upon discovering the truth. Akise merely continues his investigation of Yuno.
